Hi,
I’m Julie Badowski.
Welcome to Integrated Harmonies!
Integrated means having various different parts united together and harmony is the result of those multiple parts working together to make a pleasing whole.
Integrated Harmonies is the result of my two major passions in life: health and harmony. Or more specifically nutrition and music. These two seemingly disparate parts come together through one-on-one education and support for reaching your goals.
My passion for music started young, when as a two-year-old, I saw someone playing that piano at church and wanting to do the same. I started learning piano at 4 years old and played consistently throughout my youth and earned a BA in Music Ministry. While in undergrad, I started teaching for the community music school and fell in love with helping each student take a step by step and personalized approach to learning to play. Their success became my success.
After graduating, I was teaching piano lessons, playing gigs when able to, and working on building up my music business until I was sidelined by health struggles.
My adult life became defined by unexplained symptoms, doctors appointments, bad reactions to medications, and no answers. I finally found functional medicine and started to see some improvement as I was able to address long standing nutritional deficiencies due to food allergies and losing tolerance to multiple foods. At that point, I didn’t know which foods were making me sick so ALL food became scary.
It was through this experience that my second passion resurfaced…how food impacts health. I became determined to use the one on one coaching skills she developed in teaching piano to help other people like her find meaningful health solutions by addressing root causes through nutritional interventions.
In pursuit of this passion, and wanting to be able to provide personalized recommendations, not a one size fits all plan, I earned an MS in Clinical Nutrition and the Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS) credential through the American Nutrition Association, which will make me eligible for licensure as a nutrition professional in my home state of Illinois and other states throughout the USA. Now, I love caring for nutrition clients one on one and sharing what I learn about nutrition and health through webinars, blogs, and other media. Check out my blog here.
As I have regained my health, I also cannot imagine not teaching piano lessons anymore, thus Integrated Harmonies includes both nutrition and music. I’m here to support you in finding health and harmony.
